Welcome to a New Church Season at Covenant!
Kickoff Sunday is August 23
Summer is winding down and we're looking forward to new church year. This fall we’re launching our programmatic theme entitled “Building What Matters” inviting us to recognize where God is already at work and how we participate in that work. As we step into this fall season of transition, we will welcome several uniquely gifted guest preachers and worship leaders who will explore this theme with us and participate in worship throughout the season, alongside our strong team of ordained pastors. We hope you’ll find a way to participate in all that this church community offers and trust you'll find it invigorating. Join us Sunday, August 23, for a day of fun for all ages, the blessing of the backpacks, and a potluck lunch.
Blessing of the Backpacks
9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary
Kids are going back-to-school, which means it's time for our "Blessing of the Backpacks." Children can bring their personal packs for the blessing and prepare backpacks for children at Highland Renaissance Academy, the Mezzanine, and Avery County.

- Shop our Amazon Wish List and have school supplies shipped straight to us
- Drop off donations at the church by August 16th
Two ways to participate on August 23:
- At the 9:30 service, Covenant's children will have a special service opportunity during worship to pack and pray over the donated backpacks before they're delivered to our missional partners in Highland Renaissance Academy, the Mezzanine, and Avery County.
- At both services, kids are invited to bring their own backpacks to worship for a short blessing before the new school year begins.

11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. lunch is served
Gather with your old friends and make some new friends over a delicious Covenant-style potluck dinner. Chef Johnny will supply the fried chicken, sides and drinks.
Please bring a baked good or dessert to share.
