Covenant Presbyterian Church - Charlotte, NC

Our Guiding Principle

"Guided by the Spirit, we bravely work toward a whole and just world. We do this through three
practices: reflecting personally and communally; cultivating authentic, loving and healing
relationships across racial and cultural differences; and taking courageous action to uproot
prejudice and systemic oppression in all its forms."

Rooted in Covenant's mission, this principle guides the work of the Committee on Sacred Relationships.

Welcome

Whether you're brand new to this work or you've been doing it for years, the Committee on Sacred Relationships is glad you're here. This committee was established by Session, with input from Planning & Evaluation, growing out of what the congregation named through the Envisioning process — a sign of how central this work is to the life of our church.

We believe this journey is for everyone at Covenant: those newly curious
and those with deep experience who have wisdom to share.

Come as you are, bring what you carry, and let's grow together toward a more whole and just community.

Latest News

Covenant’s work in the community has long been a vital and core aspect of our ministry.
The newly formed Committee on Sacred Relationships: Build, Connect, Transform, part of the
Congregational Life Ministry, will continue this focus by forming relationships outside our walls and
increasing our own awareness of how issues of faith and society are perceived differently depending on
one’s perspective.
