What to Expect on Sundays

Where are we located?

We're at 1000 East Morehead Street, at the intersection with McDowell Street and Dilworth Road. You can find a map to us here.

Where should you go when you arrive?

We have parking reserved for visitors along Dilworth Road and in our main parking lot (off Arosa Avenue). Find a place up close and look toward the Sanctuary building. Walk into worship in our Chapel or Sanctuary, or head to the Fellowship Hall for classes for adults or to the Education Wing for childcare and children's classes.

Here's a map to help you find your way.

What happens on Sundays?

The heart of our church's life is worship.

We offer Christian worship that is broad and progressive, with styles that are distinctive in expression but uniform in theology and conviction.

Our sermons are based in Scripture and intellectually stimulating, interpreted through the lens of Reformed tradition and applicable to the challenges of living faithfully in a modern world.

Our song is joyful - from hymns and anthems by Covenant's choir, long recognized for excellence, to a breadth of musical praise offered by our contemporary music team.

Our Sunday Services

Covenant offers traditional and contemporary worship services at 8:45, 9:30 and 11 a.m.

Our 8:45 traditional service (paused through Labor Day) is held in a smaller setting at Morrison Chapel, and our 11:00 traditional service takes place in our Sanctuary with the full Covenant Choir.

Our contemporary worship service is at 9:30 in the Sanctuary with a worship team, including strings, percussion, brass and vocalists. Our 11:00 a.m. contemporary service (paused through Labor Day) is in the Fellowship Hall, with the same sermon as the Sanctuary services, but Americana-style music and interactive and social elements.

All are invited to come as you are - from shorts and t-shirts to suits and ties. Casual dress is optional but is not required.

Education, Fellowship and Child Care

Our summer schedule runs through Sept. 8. Room assignments have changed due to Education Wing renovations. What this means for children:

  • Childcare is available in the Parlor for infants-Kindergarten.
  • Elementary-age students will go to 9:30 a.m. worship, then depart for the Chapel for a lesson following the time with children. Parent pick-up is in the Chapel.
  • Middle and high school students will meet in The Landing (bottom floor of Fellowship Hall) from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Fifth grade students are invited to join us.
  • Parents, not siblings, are responsible for drop-off and pick-up of children from child care and Sunday School.

Adult groups meet also meet at 8:30, 9:30 or 10:45, most often in Fellowship Hall. To learn more about adult, children and youth ministries, try the Connect tab.
