Jessica Patchett

Jessica received a B.A. in Journalism from Elon University in 2005 and a Master of Divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary in 2008. She served as temporary pastor at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Concord and child and family outreach coordinator at First Presbyterian Church in Charlotte.

These roles prepared Jessica well to serve as Covenant’s next associate pastor of Christian education. Along with her experience in leading and shaping formation opportunities for all ages, her ministry has included mission and outreach to those often on the outskirts of our faith community, regular preaching, pastoral care and administrative components.

She has led adult education teams in the implementation of projects including: summer Refresh workshops, Wednesday night IMPACT Bible Study, new young adult small groups, and a fall speaker’s series. Jessica has worked with leaders of the congregation to cultivate the spiritual leadership capacities and functions of elders through both Elder Training and Baptismal Counseling

Most recently, Jessica has led a dynamic team of leaders to design and launch a new Sunday morning worship service in our renovated Fellowship Hall. Jessica anchors this weekly gathering that assumes little religious/spiritual background, includes a diverse repertoire of both sacred and secular music, and invites participants to offer their reflections and prayers in engaging ways.
