Small group will explore racial healing and Christian faith

Join Covenant members Anne McQuiston and Diane Powell for a short-term, multi-racial, multi-church small group designed to explore themes of racial healing and Christian faith.

The program is called Redeeming Race: Commemorating the Legacy of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., and will require no more than a six-week commitment.

A kickoff event is Saturday, April 14 from 9 a.m. to noon at Little Rock AME Zion Church, 401 N. McDowell Street.

You don't have to attend the kickoff to join a small group. At Covenant and elsewhere, groups will gather for "courageous conversations" such as:

• What can we in this room can do to improve race relations?
• Have you ever been treated unfairly because of your race?
• How do you think churches are doing in regard to breaking down racial prejudice?
• Ten years from now, do you imagine that race relations will have improved?
