Grow this summer: Guide to Covenant's summer opportunities

Adult Summer Sunday School

9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in FH203
Sundays through Labor Day

Join Covenant pastors and members of the congregation, as well as guest teachers Rev. Dr. Rodney Sadler, Rabbi Dusty Klass, Rev. Dr. Suzanne Henderson and Rev. Dr. Nicole Martin, for church-wide, drop-in gatherings.

In our first series, led in Week One by Jen Christianson, we’ll explore Seven Habits for Growing in Faith. In mid-summer, we’ll hear from our collegiate People in Mission and Davidson-Stapleton interns, along with representatives from the ministries with whom they serve.

In our second series, we’ll hear from biblical scholars, teachers and preachers as we explore the theme of Divine Hospitality and Finding God in the Company of Strangers. Watch Windows on Covenant for weekly topics and teachers.

Third Annual Summer Bible Study Series with The Park Church

Six Wednesday Evenings Beginning June 6
Meetings at Covenant (first three) and The Park Church (final three)

Born out of a joint worship event to cultivate shared prayer and friendship among diverse Christians, this series offers an opportunity to extend the same work through ongoing conversation, study, and fellowship. We'll explore issues of racial equity and healing through the lens of scripture, the Christian life, and our experiences. Though you don't have to attend EVERY meeting to participate, we hope group members can attend at least four of six (we will break for July 4!). For more information, please contact Ariel McBryde-Gritter at

Get to know our mission partners

Join Covenant folks for visits to three partner nonprofits to see the good work God is doing through our church.

  • Center for Community Transitions, June 5 at 5 p.m.
  • Crisis Assistance Ministry, July 17 at 11:30 a.m.
  • Urban Ministry Center, Aug. 8 at noon

We'll meet at Covenant to carpool 30 minutes prior to each visit. Please RSVP to Lucy Crain if you can join us.

Middle & High School Youth Summer Sunday School

9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Middle & High School in EW307
Sundays through Labor Day

Explore bold ways to live out Scripture with MSY Director Perrin Tribble, HSY Director Levi Bannerman and a host of adult leaders.

Elementary Summer Sunday School

Grades 1-5 will attend 9:30 a.m. worship and register with a shepherd in the narthex. Following the “Time with young disciples,” students leave for a lesson in EW207. Parents pick up children from class.

Kindergarten children may be brought by parents to first floor at any time during worship. Check in at electronic monitor or classroom door (age as of Aug. 31, 2017). Music and story time are provided in the center hall at both worship hours. (Please note: parents, not siblings, are responsible for dropping off and picking up children from child care and Sunday School).
