Deep Dive: Presbyterians and the struggle over predestination
Does God Choose...Me? A talk on the meaning of predestination
Sunday, March 3 at 7 p.m. in Fellowship Hall 203
Predestination is the idea that God has chosen some individuals for salvation in advance. It is a doctrine which has been historically - and notably - associated with Presbyterianism. Do we still believe it? And if so, why would God act like that?
On one hand, it is almost universally recognized as a part of our tradition, history and theological underpinnings. Yet, on the other hand, it is deeply confusing and even sometimes upsetting. It challenges our notions of justice and goodness.
Join Jessica Patchett and Ian Clark for our Deep Dive Discussions series to demystify this confusing concept. Join us afterward for fellowship at Dilworth Neighborhood Grille!
