Join guest teachers Rev. Dr. Rodney Sadler, Rabbi Dusty Klass, Rev. Dr. Suzanne Henderson and Rev. Dr. Nicole Martin for church-wide, drop-in gatherings.

In our first series, we’ll explore Seven Habits for Growing in Faith. In mid-summer, we’ll hear from our collegiate People in Mission and Davidson-Stapleton interns, along with representatives from the ministries with whom they serve.

In our second series, we’ll hear from biblical scholars, teachers and preachers as we explore the theme of Divine Hospitality and Finding God in the Company of Strangers. Watch Windows on Covenant for weekly topics and teachers.

Here's a look at the week-by-week schedule:

June 10 - Margo Richardson on Gratitude (Margo is serving through the Jeffrey D. Sanders Summer Internship, established in Jeffrey's memory and honor by his parents, Lynn and Doug Sanders. Margo will support children and youth on mission trips and retreats, and in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She also will update school year curriculum. A graduate of Rhodes College, Margo is pursuing her divinity degree at Columbia Theological Seminary).

June 17 - Joan Watson on Friendship

June 24 - Hannah Blanton on Creativity (https://www.sozogallery.net/about/): How can we use our gifts to serve - and love - others?

  • Hannah will be joined by Scott Gardner, an Emmy nominated cinematographer who hasshot and produced documentary television shows for National Geographic, Red Bull, ABC, Discovery Channel and more. His fine art photography has been shown in galleries across the country and is in private and corporate collections. He has been a guest panelist at the Mint Museum and academic institutions. Gardner completed an artist in residency program at the McColl Center for Art+Innovation in Charlotte, NC. He is also co-founder of AboutFace CLT along with Sozo Gallery Director, Hannah Blanton.

July 15 - Julia Watkins and the People in Mission and Davidson Stapleton Interns on Service 

July 22 - Begins the second series - Divine Hospitality and Finding God in the Company of Strangers! Ben Mallicote on Stories of God's People as Strangers in the Old Testament

July 29 - Suzanne Henderson on Stories of God's People as Strangers in the New Testament

July 5 - Ian Clark on Stories of God's People Finding God in the Company of Strangers Today

July 12 - Dusty Klass on Biblical Hospitality in the Hebrew Bible

July 19 - Jessica Patchett on Biblical Hospitality in the New Testament

July 26 - Rodney Sadler on Biblical Hospitality and Its Call to Contemporary Churches

Children: Elementary students will attend 9:30 a.m. worship and register with a shepherd in the narthex. Following the "Time with Young Disciples," students leave for a lesson in EW207. Parents pick up children from class.
Youth: Middle/high school students will meet from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in Ed Wing 307
Preschool: Parents may bring preschool age children to Ed Wing 1st floor any time during 9:30 and 11 a.m. worship. Check in at electronic monitor or classroom door.
Worship Services: The 8:45 a.m. Chapel service will pause from July 1 through Sept. 2. All other services will continue as normal.
