Welcome to Covenant's Recreation Ministries. We nurture good health - spiritual and physical - through a ministry of wellness, fitness, and fun. In our Recreation Center, we offer programs to strengthen minds, bodies, and spirits, while using our facilities and events to reach out to our neighbors in Charlotte. 

Below you will find information about our programs that range from personal training to summer camps to sports leagues to group exercise. 

2018 Summer Camps

 

Game Ready Basketball Camp with Ricky Price

Discovery Summer Camp

June11th – June 15th

Time: 9am -12:30pm Cost: $225

A fun, engaging and interactive summer camp for rising 4s –Pre K!  We will participate in science experiments, cooking projects, make fun art, yoga and much more. 

 

Stretch, Grow, Create, Play Camp

When: June 11– 15, 9:30 am-12:30 pm

What: A week-long day camp for children ages 4-10, during which they will:

 Learn yoga poses and relaxation while listening to God’s message of love and playfully enacting bible stories and teachings.

Cost: $175 per child per week. (A $15 sibling discount available).

Small Hands Big Art Camp

Weeks of:  June 25 -August 3 (no camp the week of July4th)

Ages: 4-14

Cost: $235 per Week

Description: Kids explore painting, drawing, 3D sculpture from clay, dough, wood, recycled materials, collage, printmaking, marbling, book making, and plaster.

Lil Dribbler Camp”

June 25th – 28th — Cost: $159

4 Day Half Day Boys only

ages 5-7 from 9 am - Noon

We want to give these young boys an introduction on how to play basketball. Emphasis will be on making this fun.

Boys Only Shooting / Guard Skills Camp

June 25th – 28th — Cost: $159

4 Day Half Day

Boys Only ages: 9-12 from 1pm - 4 pm

This camp will focus on shooting and guard skills.

“Lil Dribbler Camp”

July 9th – 12th

4 Day Half Day

Boys only ages 5-7 from 9 am - Noon

Cost: $159

We want to give these young boys an introduction on how to play basketball. Emphasis will be on making this fun.

Player FUNdamentals Camp

July 9th – 12th .
4 Day – Half Day  

Boys and Girls  8-11 from 1pm - 4pm

Cost: $159 for all 4 days includes camp gift

This coed all purpose camp will focus on teaching fundamentals of the game.

Boys Only Camp Of Champions

July 23rd - 26th
4 day ALL DAY   

Boys Only ages: 10-13 from 9 am - 4 pm.
Cost:  $239 for all 4 days –
includes camp gift

This is a powerful experience for boys –much MORE than just basketball. 

Player FUNdamentals Camp

July 30th - Aug 2nd
4 Day – Half Day -

Boys and girls ages 8-11 from 9am – Noon

Cost: $159 for all 4 days includes camp gift

This coed all purpose camp will focus on teaching fundamentals of the game.

Boys ONLY Scrimmage camp

July 30th - Aug 2nd

4 Day – Half Day -  

Boys only ages 11-14 from 1pm – 4pm

Cost: $159 for all 4 days includes camp gift

4 days of non-stop professional league scrimmaging!

 

“Liz Holly and the Jolly Lollies” Music Camp

During their camp your child will be guided on a musical journey from their albums- Wishin' Vol. 1 + 2. They will learn new songs, play musical games, be introduced to new instruments, do arts and crafts, and outdoor play.

Intro to Ukulele Camp

Do you have a child interested in learning how to play ukulele? This camp will give a great introduction to the basics of playing the ukulele. Your child will learn chords, strum patterns, chord changes, and how to play a song!!

Hero’s Pursuit

Ages: Boys, rising grades 6-8

Cost: $285

Middle school is more than books and homework!  It’s a whole new social scene, with changing friendships, social media, girls and more.  Hero’s Pursuit teaches guys social leadership skills to help them learn where they fit in, how to lead their own lives and how to be a leader using their own skills and interests. 

 

Soccer Shots Soccer Camp

Weeks: Mon-Friday weeks of July 16 (ages 3-5) August 13th (ages 3-5) and 20th (ages 6-8)

Time: 9am—noon

Description:  Introduce your child to soccer in a fun & energetic environment. 

 

After VBS Camp with the “Jolly Lollies”

The Jolly Lollies are continuing the fun from VBS with music camp!  Your children are picked up from VBS pick at noon and brought over to camp. They will learn new songs, play musical games, be introduced to new instruments, do arts and crafts, and outdoor play.  Please pack a lunch.

“Small Hands Big Art” After VBS

SHBA is continuing the fun from VBS with art camp!  Your children are picked up from VBS at noon  and brought over to camp.  Kids will explore painting, drawing, 3D sculpture from clay, dough, wood, recycled materials, collage, print making, marbling, book making, and plaster.

45+ Pick-Up Basketball: Sundays 3:00 - 5:00 pm.

Basketball Court Rentals: Looking for a court so your group or business can have weekly basketball games?  We are your place for just $50 an hour!  Contact us today about your gym rental needs.

Youth Basketball League:  Youth fall/winterbasketball league with Playbook for Life.  Registration runs mid-September through mid-October.  Registration runs September 1 - October 9

Fitness

(You do not have to be a Recreation Center member to participate.)

Memberships: Covenant offers memberships to the Fitness Center.  With the membership you gain access to the weight room, track, lockers, showers and basketball court.

Personal Training: Our certified trainers offer one-on-one, buddy, and small group personal training. Fees vary.

Group Exercise Classes:  We offer Yoga, Functional Fitness, Boot Camp, Running Group, Stroller Strides, Body Back, and Total Body Training. Class types, days, times, and price packages vary.  First class free!  

Functional Fitness for Adults 60+: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: 9:30 - 10:30 am  Exercise under the guidance of a licensed physical therapist. First Class Free!

Total Body Training: Tuesdays and Thursdays 9-10am.  Work out your entire body utilizing weights, bars, bands, balls, your body, and the environment.  First class free, then only $8 drop-in fee.

Stroller Strides:   A total fitness program that parents can do with their babies. It includes power walking and intervals of strength and body toning exercises using exercise tubing, the stroller, and the environment.  Every Monday, Wednesday, & Friday from 10:45am-11:45am.  For more information see their website at Fit4mom Meet in the Rec Center Lobby.

Private Yoga: One on one yoga sessions with Stephanie Jeon.

Devoted Fitness: Jesus music, ladies dancing, sweating, and praising... That's Devoted Fitness!  Group fitness for your soul. We minister to others through faith, fitness, and fellowship. 

Body Back: Under the Stroller Strides umbrella, Body Back® is a results-based workout designed for moms who want their body back; whether they just had a baby or their last child was born twenty years ago!

Yoga:

     Deep Stretch, Yin Flow:  A class designed to connect movement with breath, repeating movements and holding for longer periods to build strength and lengthen muscles.

     Yoga + Prayer: Covenant Yoga is experiential worship specifically created to deepen your connection to Christ.  Our sole  purpose is to combine world class yoga with a Christ honoring experience that offers an opportunity to believers and non-believers alike to authentically connect with God

     Gentle & Relax Yoga: First Class Free! Beginners always welcome... mats, blocks and straps provided.      

     Seated Yoga: Great class for the older folks!

      Afternoon Yoga: Start the weekend off the right way.  Reduce the stress from the week while gaing strength and stamina. 

Hip-Hop Fitness: Hip Hop Fitness uses simple hip hop moves combined with upbeat music to keep you moving the whole time. Hip Hop is a great class to get your cardio workout, and have fun while doing it

Children's Programs  

Party Rentals:  Rent our facility for your child's birthday, holiday, sports, movie theater, or dance party!  Have full use of the court, dining/activity area and game room.  Balls, scooters, skates, parachute, and more!  Two hour block of time.  Cost for members is $75, for non-members cost is $100.  Bounce houses available for $35. 

Youth Basketball League:  Youth fall/winter basketball league with Playbook for Life.  Registration runs September through early-October. 

Discovery Afternoon: Extend the daily preschool curriculum while exploring science and the arts while discovering the world around us.

We are a recycle drop off point for old keys, cell phones, old jewerly, rechargeable batteries, ink cartridges, and corks!     

Weekday Lunch (Tuesday-Thursday, 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.)

Most weeks, we offer a nutritious and delicious lunch in our Fellowship Hall. Bring a friend or work colleague to enjoy good food and fellowship – open to all.

Lunch includes soup, salad bar, entree, side, dessert and drink for $7.
