Fishel Estate Benefits Covenant
Esther and Charlie Fishel loved Covenant Church, especially its music program. Charlie died years ago, and Esther last year. They lived simple lives, but one of remarkable stewardship. In their will, they left virtually the entire estate (valued at almost $1 million) to Covenant Church. It was their wish that this bequest be used for long-term maintenance of the church, and to benefit its music program.
The Fishels' household possissions will be offered for public sale at their home, 1516 Lynway Drive (just off East Boulevard), Saturday and Sunday, September 25 and 26.
Covenant members may view/purchase household items at a pre-sale opportunity, September 18, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm.
Sealed bids will be taken for Mrs. Fishel's Chevy pickup truck (fairly old, fewer than 30,000 miles).

Covenant Connection Begins with a Boom!
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 1. Covenant Connection returns with a spectacular event as we celebrate the culture of Africa and the recent trip of our Kenyan Mission team.
The Covenant Connection team, partnering with our Global Mission Committee will entertain you with the drum music of the Foli Kam West African Percussion Ensemble, a performance branch of the Charlotte Community Drummers. Their interactive performance will energize members of all ages.
In addition, more than 350 children's paintings will be on display. More than 180 of these were painted by the children at the Renguti School outside Nairobi, Kenya. The others were done by our own children of Covenant, and Highland Academy. Bright, colorful and beautifully textured, you will see the amazing results of our Kids and Kenya art project. Children at the school painted their self portraits to send back to our elementary-aged children at Covenant and the fourth grade at Highland Academy. The mission team took our children's portraits over when we traveled to exchange with the Kenyan children. Now, all of the children's art work (or copies) will be on display.

New Use Sought For Arosa House
Covenant is proposing a new use for the Arosa House. The church is taking steps to rezone the property, and offer the Arosa House to Charlotte's Freedom School Partners for their use as administrative offices.
A letter has been written to surrounding Dilworth property owners to outline the proposed changes. View letter here.
