Wednesdays
Eat together. Laugh together. Learn together. Each Wednesday evening, Covenant offers dinner and discussions for the whole family. Dinner is $6 per adult and $4 per child, with a maximum of $20 per family. When you're done eating, join us for an hour of programs, where we learn and talk about faith and life.
Each week, we also host young visitors from The Relatives, an area youth shelter. For more information, contact Ann Sanders.
Following dinner, children have programs in the Education Wing, and adults can choose from a variety of classes or groups meet at 6:30 p.m.
Young Scholars. Elementary children are invited to learn more about how to use their Bibles and apply Scripture in daily living. Time for study and for play. Meets in EW 207.
Tempered by Fire: Growing in the Aftermath of Suffering. Psychologist and UNC Charlotte professor Lawrence Calhoun leads a three-week series on how we cope with trying times in our lives. (February 1-15)
Grief and Loss Support Group. One of life’s greatest challenges is letting go. Whether it is the death of a family member or friend, a painful transition, or significant changes to one’s health, letting go is hard. To support those who are grieving a loss or significant change we are offering a grief support group to provide encouraging presence and to affirm God’s care and love for those who are hurting. Led by Rev. David Lytle, a chaplain at Presbyterian Hospital for the past fifteen years, the focus will be on experiencing God’s healing love and power in the presence of painful loss. (Jan. 11-Feb. 15) Meets in the Parlor.
Young Adults. Inger Manchester leads a study of Christian denominations. FH 201.
Speaking of Faith meets in the library. The group discusses Krista Tippett's book each week.
Pathfinders meet in FH, lower level. Single or married adults, mostly in the 30s and 40s, enjoy mission trips, hiking or biking, movies and Bible and book studies.
