7:00 pm in the
Covenant Sanctuary
This will be a joint
service with the congregation of C. N.
Jenkins Presbyterian Church with the
sermon by its senior pastor, Rev. Dr.
Jerry Cannon. "White
gifts” of non-perishable food items
wrapped in white paper will be collected
for Loaves & Fishes. An offering
will be received to benefit the
Alexander Youth Network and Barium
Springs Home for Children. Child care
provided for ages 5 and under.
Prior to the service, a
lasagna dinner will be served in
Fellowship Hall beginning at 5:30.

The 2008
congregational Advent devotion book
Members
of the Covenant congregation and staff
have once again contributed personal
devotions for the seasons of Advent and
Christmastide; and Martha Isaacs has
once again gathered them into a printed
booklet for sharing with the entire
congregation. The booklet will be
available for pick-up, free of charge,
beginning on Sunday morning, November
30.
The devotion book will
be posted in its entirety on the
Covenant web site. And, for those who
express an interest, individual
devotions contained in the booklet can
be sent by daily e-mail. If you would
like to receive these e-mails throughout
the holiday season, please send your
name and e-mail address to

Negotiating Career Challenges: Tools
to Manage Stress and Seize
Opportunities
Covenant
continues this Sunday School class
on
November 23 in Fellowship Hall
at 9:30 am. Open to church members
and the community, this class will
look at challenges being faced in
the employment arena and how these
can be addressed in positive and
productive and faithful ways.
November 23:
Allan Bacon and Doug Bacon address the
topics of preparing for change and
identifying one’s purpose in and
outside of work. Allan and Doug are
brothers who have successfully,
pro-actively found 14 jobs in the
last 15 years; been through 3
lay-offs; have sold a company and
started a company.

Committee is holding its annual
Christmas door wreath sale. Orders are
being taken now through Sunday, November
23. The wreaths are freshly made in the
NC mountains. You may turn in your
pre-paid order on the green or mail in your order to the
address on the form.

fun tradition, different day!
Mark your calendar for Wednesday,
December 3, 5:00 – 7:00 In
Fellowship Hall. Christmas Crafts
will be part of Covenant connection this
year with fun crafts for all ages!
Crafts will be purchased with pre-paid
tickets, bring cash or a check to
purchase tickets. Also, bring a bag for
your crafts.
As in years past, you
will have the opportunity to make your
own advent wreath.
The cost is $13 and must
be pre-ordered by Sunday, November 23rd.

Pictorial Directories
Members who had their
photos made by Olan Mills may pick
up a directory at no cost in the
Narthex of the Sanctuary building. Please
pick up the directory with your name on
it; one per household. Others who would
like to purchase a directory ($10 each)
may do so through the church office
during regular business hours.

Midweek
worship has year-long theme
Covenant
family and friends are invited to the
midweek service each Wednesday,
12:00 - 12:30 pm in Morrison Chapel This
unique service includes the celebration
of Holy Communion, prayer on behalf of
others, music and a brief meditation.
This year's theme
is: Keeping Body and Soul Together: the
Gospel's Answer to a Fragmented Life.
Preaching this series is Joan Watson;
liturgists include many of Covenant's
Elders. Lunch is served in Fellowship
hall between 11:30 and 1:00 pm; Cost:
$6. |

Covenant
Connection is Covenant Church’s
regularly scheduled mid-week dinner and
program for members and guests of all
ages. Dinner begins at 5:30;
reservations are needed by noon
tomorrow. Meal charges are $6 for
adults; $4 for children and youth under
18, with a $20 family maximum.
