Thank you for choosing Covenant Presbyterian
Church. We look forward to your family being part of the Elementary
Department. Please call Pat Taft if you have any questions, comments
or suggestions, or if you'd like to volunteer. There are many ways
to help in the Flight of the Spirit!
Flight of the Spirit is the theme
of our workshop rotation model Sunday School. It's an interactive
experience that sets faith to flight.
Our Philosophy: Every child has
been blessed with gifts and talents which require different learning
styles to help nurture those gifts. Our education program helps to
lift up each child's gifts and talents, and enables them to discover
what those may be as they learn about God's faithfulness and the
love of Jesus Christ. We believe in establishing a safe and peaceful
environment that encourages sharing concerns and celebrating joys as
a community of believers. Our ministry with children is relational,
and we provide opportunities for creating intergenerational
relationships within the congregation. We believe in establishing a
firm foundation of serving others, and providing opportunities for
children to actively participate in serving.
Sunday Morning: Children in
grades 1-5 meet at 9:30 am each Sunday on the second floor of the
education building. All ages gather in the Upper Room for prayer and
fellowship before departing for their particular workshops. (Adult)
Shepherds sit with the children and escort them to their workshops.
Each rotation lasts five weeks, and we cover seven stories or themes
in a year. The teachers change every five weeks. However, the same
shepherd team remains with the children for the entire year in order
to work on building relationships.
