Infants and Toddlers

Mission Statement

To provide child care in a safe and nurturing environment where children feel loved.


Crib Room, EW 102

Younger Toddlers, EW 101; Older Toddlers EW 103

• Infants are welcomed at 6 weeks of age, and remain in the crib room until they are walking (12 months)

• Younger toddlers are children who are walking; older toddlers are typically 18 months or older.

• Paid child care providers and parent volunteers staff the nursery.

Child care is provided for the 8:30 worship service, the church school hour, and the 11:00 worship service.


Ages 2 through 5

Mission Statement

To provide children with biblically based, hands-on learning experiences in a safe and loving environment. To communicate love, trust and forgiveness through the message of God’s love. To provide a safe nurturing environment in which children may play.

Goals

• To provide a safe and welcoming environment

• To teach children how to love and respect each other

• To teach children how to pray

• To teach God’s love through songs

• To teach stories from the Bible using a “hands on” approach

• To place an emphasis on stewardship

 Church school hour

Sundays, 9:30 to 10:30 AM

  

Church Child Care:

Ages 2-5,10:30 AM to 12:00 noon

Church child care is held during the 11:00 worship service. It is staffed by parent volunteers; group music time is included weekly.

Peace of Mind

• Infants and their parents are given matching “critter” tags. Toddlers through 5-year-olds and their parents are given disposable ID bracelets and  correspondingly numbered tags. Proper identification must be presented in classrooms before children are dismissed.

• Vibration beepers are available for parents of children who are visiting, or who are experiencing separation anxiety.

• Derann Smoak, Early Childhood Assistant, is available on Sunday mornings with information and guidance.

 

Parent Resource Table

A permanent table display, located on the second floor of the Education Wing, offers a variety of resources for parents in their role as primary faith educators of their children. Stop by any time!

 

Child Care at times other than Sunday morning

Child care is generally provided during special events and worship services. Child care reservations are required for some events. Please phone the church office or check publicity information for details.
