Tennis

Covenant's Recreation Ministries is excited to offer "Serving Youth Tennis, a 10-and-under program in partnership with the Charlotte Tennis Association.

This program is designed to provide a positive, fun introdcution to the game for girls and boys ages 6-10. The 10-and-Under Tennis play format takes a new and better approach to introducing kids to the game. Balls are lower in compression; they bounce lower and don't move as fast so they are easier to hit. This allows kids time to get to the ball and helps them develop optimal swing patterns.

Racquets are lighter, smaller, and sized for small hands. Courts are smaller and easier to cover.  They also fit easily into a gym setting.  In all, “10 and Under Tennis” equals more fun and less frustration. One basketball court can be reconfigured to accommodate four 36-foot courts, so instead of waiting in line, kids can spend their time playing.
